Modern family house

Modern architecture is often characterized by angular shapes. When we think of a modern building, we usually imagine a one- to two-story structure with an attractive façade and a flat roof. The structural solution for this type of roof is traditionally handled either by a reinforced concrete slab or by wooden beams supplemented with additional insulation layers. An economical alternative to the traditional solution is wooden trusses with gusset plates with pressed-in teeth. One of the main advantages of trusses is the ability to create a roof without the need for internal load-bearing walls (spans of up to 30 m). Another major advantage of a flat roof made of wooden trusses is that the top chord of the truss "copies" the designed roof pitch, eliminating the need to create a sloped layer using additional materials. Part of the truss design solution is also the creation of a vertical parapet (there is no need to build it, or to create it with a complicated wooden structure), or a horizontal overhang around the entire building (see photo).
